Hummingbird — Speed Camera Alerts

This Privacy Policy explains how Hummingbird (“we,” “us,” the “App”) handles your information. We built Hummingbird to alert you to nearby speed, red-light, and other traffic cameras. We collect as little as possible and we do not sell your data.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account, we store your email address and an encrypted authentication record through our backend provider (Supabase).
- Location data. The App uses your device location to show nearby cameras and to deliver proximity alerts, including background alerts while you drive (if you enable them). Your location is processed on your device and used to query nearby cameras. We do not store a history of your movements on our servers.
- Subscription status. Purchases and the 7-day free trial are handled by Apple. We receive only your subscription status (active/inactive) from Apple — never your payment details.
How we use your information
- To authenticate you and provide access to the App.
- To show nearby cameras and deliver speed-camera alerts.
- To manage your subscription and free trial.
- To maintain and improve the service.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information.
- We do not show third-party advertising.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Location permissions
“While Using” location enables the live map and in-app alerts. “Always” location is optional and only used to deliver background camera alerts while driving when the App is closed. You can change or revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings.
Data retention & deletion
We retain your account information for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account inside the App, which permanently removes your account and associated profile data from our systems. You may also request deletion by emailing us at the address below.
Third-party services
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
- Apple — subscription billing and the free trial.
- OpenStreetMap — source of public camera location data.
Children
Hummingbird is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
